During the Trump campaign, I wrote a book on the influence of Frank Gaffney, the fringe neocon who has made a career pulling fire alarms, telling us Islam will destroy western civilization and enslave us to Sharia law.
Earlier this week Trump’s national security adviser John Bolton installed Fred Fleitz as the National Security Council’s executive secretary and chief of staff. Fleitz worked for Bolton at the State Department during the Bush administration. He is a senior staff member at the Center for Security Policy (CPS), a hardline neocon think tank founded by Gaffney. Its raison d’etre is taking out the mullahs in Iran, who are invariably described as “Islamofascists,” and unflattering support for the Israeli Likudnik ethnic cleansers.

Kim Jung-un was upset. Trump’s VP Mike Pence made an indelicate reference to the Libyan Model. It wasn’t a good sign following John Bolton’s use of the term. The corporate propaganda media mentioned denuclearization, but left alone “we came, we saw, he died,” Hillary Clinton’s psychopathic take on Caesar in response to Gaddafi’s brutal murder.

Facebook is “excited” to announce it has launched “a new partnership with the Atlantic Council, which has a stellar reputation looking at innovative solutions to hard problems,” for instance, killing alternative media and its disruption of the national security state’s propaganda stream.
The Atlantic Council advocates on behalf of NATO, the Cold War alliance called upon in times of need—like in Libya, where it made the murder of 30,000 people and the knife rape-murder of Gaddafi possible.

Over the past few months, I’ve lost quite a few followers on Twitter.
I attribute this to deliberate action on the part of the social media giant, although I can’t prove it.
We know social media corporations are under fire for allowing the expression of opinion and recalling of facts on their platforms contrary to the stream of propaganda put out by corporate media stenographers, which they denounce as Russian bot activity or the behavior of useful idiots for Vladimir Putin.

Trump’s Treasury is turning up the heat on Iran. On Tuesday it imposed terror sanctions on Valiollah Seif, the governor of the Iranian central bank, and another senior official, Ali Tarzali, who works in the central bank’s international division, according to the Associated Press.

It looks like Ecuador will betray Julian Assange. It is being reported his political asylum may be revoked and the WikiLeaks founder handed over to British and then American authorities.
Speculation follows remarks by Ecuador’s Foreign Minister Maria Fernanda Espinosa. Last Wednesday she said the Ecuadorian government and Britain “have the intention and the interest that this be resolved,” a resolution that very well may result in either a life sentence or an execution in the United States.

You can’t make this stuff up.
During my lifetime, I have experienced a number of big time war criminals—Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Henry Kissinger—and George W. Bush is right up there with them.
He oversaw the murder of over two million Iraqis.

It will take a while for Trump and his crew of recycled neocons and neo-neocons—converts of the MAGA variety—to realize their perverse dream of overthrowing the mullahs in Iran.
An outright invasion is out of the question. While an invasion effectively overthrew Saddam Hussein and prepared the way for destroying Iraq, that event was preceded by more than a decade of medieval sanctions that killed over a million people, including 500,000 children. In effect, Iraq was a third world basket case with a broken military long before George W. Bush and his neocon marauders invaded.

During the election, I wrote a little ebook titled “Donald Trump’s War on Islam.” In addition to pointing out Trump’s pandering to Islamophobia, I wrote about his association with a number of neocons, including Frank Gaffney and John Bolton, who is now his national security adviser. “I think John Bolton’s a good man,” Trump told the Hugh Hewitt Show.
“I watched him yesterday, actually, and he was very good in defending me in some of my views, and very, very strong. And I’ve always liked John Bolton. Well, we are thinking about it, Hugh [nominating Bolton as secretary of state]. I will say that. We are thinking about it. I mean, the negative is what I told you. But we are seriously thinking about it.”

President Trump’s trashing of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action has nothing to do with nuclear weapons, missile development, or even Iran’s supposed role as the world’s top sponsor of terror.
It’s about squeezing the Iranian economy with harsh sanctions. It’s about making the people of Iran scream. It’s about overthrowing the mullahs and installing the Mujahedeen Khalq—MEK for short—also known as the People’s Mujahedeen.
Last year John Bolton, now Trump’s right hand man on foreign policy, told a gathering of MEK supporters the organization—formerly listed as a terrorist group—is a “viable” alternative to the current government in Iran.
